Total eclipse in Niagara

On April 8th, get ready for a once in a lifetime event.

Niagara will be one of the few places in Canada where you will be able to see the total eclipse.

Public health says to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the event.

“It is very dangerous to look directly at the sun at any time, and a quick glance during an eclipse can be especially tempting. Looking directly at the uncovered sun can cause irreversible eye damage.”

The recommended glasses for the event are the ISO-12312-2, certified eclipse glasses.

Local residents are also encouraged to fill up their gas tank, get groceries, water and first-aid supplies on hand, as line-ups with tourists are expected to be long.
