ROCK N ROLL BANDSTAND

Robert E Sox Bio
It is often said that if you can do what you love and make a living from it, you are a very fortunate person. Consider Robert E Sox blessed. Born Robert Stephen Legault in Toronto, Canada, Robert enjoyed a life in entertainment business. He started as a drummer, where he acquired the nickname “Bo,” then became a talent agent, and finally embarked on a career as a mobile DJ in and around the Greater Toronto Area. A good friend, Brian Henderson, already in the broadcast industry with 1050 CHUM- AM, suggested Robert give radio a try. So with his help, Robert’s radio career began.
Robert began working a string of small stations in British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario. His last stop in radio was in Barrie Ontario and rather move to an east coast sttion, decided to join Nightlife Productions in Mississauga, Ontario, and the WRNR Radio Road Show. The show was similar to the Rock and Roll Bandstand that he hosts today. It was here that he adopted the radio name Robert E Sox, or Bobby Sox as it translates. The WRNR Radio Road Show was a successful pub and bar show for many years, with his co-host KJ, playing solid gold hits and keeping the dance floor full!
Moving to the present, Robert is now retired and living in a beach house on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, in the sleepy little fishing and tourist town of Playas, Ecuador. However, thanks to the effort and encouragement of his good friend Walter Scott James, host of the Old School Dance and Rockin’ Country Fame, Robert E Sox is back on the air with a brand new show called RNR Bandstand, produced by Walter Scott James, playing great music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Robert debuted his new show in May of 2021 and shows no sign of slowing down, continuing to produce an informative and great music show each week, from an era, Robert claims was the Best Era in Rock & Roll Music!
Saturday and Sunday at 7pm.
