Winter program registration begins Tuesday Dec. 8

As the “City Where Everybody Can Play!” – There are a wide variety of activities to keep residents of St. Catharines active and engaged this winter. Registration for the City’s winter recreation and aquatic programming will open online for residents on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. at stcatharines.ca/ActiveSTC. In-person registration will start at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre. Non-residents can start registering online on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m., with in-person registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15 at SKAC. Activities will be available to all ages and abilities. Some of the program highlights for this winter include: • Mom and Baby Fitness • Zumbini • Sewing Club with Creative Bug – Messenger Bag • Boogie Nights low impact fitness (Free try it class offered week of Jan. 8, 2024) • Barre Fit (Free try it class offered week of Jan. 8, 2024) • Adult Ballet (Free try it class offered week of Jan. 8, 2024) Be sure to guarantee a spot in your favourite program by registering early. Older Adult Centre memberships for 2024 are also now available for $60.75. In addition to the winter programming, the City is running the “Do it in December” promotion to help residents get in the groove for 2024. Visit stcatharines.ca/ActiveSTC and search the word “free” to reserve a spot in some of the great active programming being offered for free to help residents kick start some healthy habits for the new year. Pay as you go swimming lessons for children between 3 and 12 are also being offered at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre, from Dec. 12 to Jan. 7, 2024. There are three levels to choose from – Just Getting Started, Learn to Swim, and Skill Development. The cost is $5.50 per child, per lesson. Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre will host free public skating on New Year’s Eve from 9:30 a.m. to noon on all four pads – one of which will host the popular glow-in-the-dark event complete with glow sticks, character visits and a family photo booth.
