West Lincoln Crossing Guard purchases accessible van thanks to community donations

There’s a good news story coming out of West Lincoln. Laura Davis, one of the Township of West Lincoln crossing guards, was able to purchase her new wheelchair accessible 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan for her daughter Alyssa, on Wednesday, September 20, thanks to generous donations from the community. A total of $60,600 was raised for the cause. Laura began her fundraising efforts by selling chocolate bars outside Foodland, in Smithville, back in April this year, and the community took her cause and ran with it by adding their own fundraisers, included but not limited to: Turkstra Lumber, which held a barbecue fundraiser, the Wayne Schilstra Re/MAX Team, which also held a barbecue fundraiser, Woodshed, which donated $10,000 and Stanpac, which also donated $10,000
