Toronto Man Arrested Following St. Catharines Drug Investigation
Niagara Regional Police detectives are continuing to investigate after they seized nearly a kilogram of suspected illegal drugs in St. Catharines. On Tuesday, the investigation led officers to a parked grey Chevrolet Sonic in the area of Welland Avenue and Tasker Street. As a result of the investigation detectives formed grounds to believe illegal drugs were in the car. The driver was subsequently arrested. The car and the driver were searched after his arrest. Detectives located and seized the following:-400.9 grams of suspected cocaine (estimated street value $40,000)
-490.3 grams of suspected red fentanyl (estimated street value $100,000)
-$4540 in Canadian currency
26 year-old Tiroune Lloyd Hazell of Scarborough has been arrested and charged with criminal offences of:Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl), Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) and Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000.
