Suspect To Identify After Multiple Fuel Thefts Throughout the Niagara Region

Niagara Regional Police have been actively investigating fuel thefts believed to have been committed by the same suspect throughout the Region of Niagara. Between July 29th and November 7th, the suspect has committed 7 fuel thefts resulting in a total financial loss of $949.30.  The 7 thefts have occurred in St. Catharines, Welland, Niagara Falls and Fort Erie. In each of the thefts, the suspect arrives at a gas pump operating a blue BMW X5 SUV.  Based on the body style, it is believed the BMW is an older model possibly manufactured between 2000-2007.  Additionally, the suspect is switching back and forth between stolen licence plates.  The two stolen Ontario licence plates being used by the suspect are #BSAC475 and #BXPX281. The suspect is described as         a white male, 40 to 50 years of age, 5’8” to 5’10” with varying hair styles, most recently a shaved head, and he has tattoos on both calves.
