Suspect arrested in connection with stabbing in Niagara Falls

Niagara Regional Police have made an arrest following an investigation into a stabbing that occurred just before 10am Monday in the area of Victoria Avenue and Buttrey Street in Niagara Falls. 39 year old Mark Terrance Stacey has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, NRPS officers learned a 37 year old Niagara Falls man had been assaulted with a weapon.  The victim’s injuries have since been downgraded to non-life threatening.  Detectives believe it was a targeted incident that occurred in an encampment located to the south of Buttrey Street.
