Serious Collision Between a Bike and SUV in Niagara Falls Under Investigation

Just after 7:30pm on Saturday September 23, emergency services personnel responded to a serious collision on Portage Road near Upper Rapids Road in Niagara Falls. Niagara EMS paramedics treated a 44-year-old cyclist, who sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to out-of-town trauma centre where he remains in critical condition.  The initial investigation determined a 44-year-old male cyclist was riding eastbound on Portage Road when he was struck by an SUV being driven by a 73-year-old female.  The driver of the SUV was not injured.The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been laid.
