In November 2023, Niagara Regional Police Detectives assigned to the Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation into several uploads of Child Sexual Abuse Material to a Google cloud-based storage service. The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Hamilton Police Service ICE Unit. On Wednesday, both Police Services executed a search warrant at a private residence in Hamilton and seized numerous devices capable of storing electronic data. Evidence uncovered at the scene resulted in the arrest of 32 year-old Cody Alexander Fisher who is now facing one count of possessing child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography. In addition, he is facing one charge for failing to comply with a prohibition order regarding children which was imposed due to a previous criminal code conviction.
