NRPS Investigating 3rd Armed Robbery in Lincoln – man arrested

Niagara Regional Police have been continuing to investigate three-armed robberies that occurred in the Town of Lincoln on Wednesday. A suspect entered three commercial businesses brandishing a black handgun demanding money. The suspect fled the area in all three incidents. None of the involved employees were physically injured. Following multiple tips from the public, detectives were able to identify the suspect and were able to locate him in the area of Glendale Avenue and Highway 406 in St. Catharines. At 6:15 Thursday evening, officers from the NRPS Emergency Task Unit attended the area and arrested the suspect without incident or injury. 30 year old Johnathan Joseph Jones of no fixed address has been arrested and charged with three counts of robbery with a firearm. Jones was held in custody for a video bail hearing today. The investigation remains ongoing by detectives. Further charges are anticipated.
