Niagara Region has announced the appointment of Terry Ricketts as the new Commissioner of Public Works. Ricketts’ appointment follows an extensive, Canada-wide, recruitment process that was undertaken by an independent recruitment agency. Ricketts joins Niagara Region from Peel Region where she has been the Director of Transportation since 2020. Prior to her work in Peel, she has held senior level positions with the City of Richmond Hill and Stantec Consulting. Throughout her career she has a positive track record of building and developing strong teams and successfully leading complex projects. The Region’s Public Works Department is composed of the Waste Management, Water and Wastewater and Transportation divisions.Ricketts will join the Region and begin her role as Commissioner of Public Works on Oct. 30.
