CLASSIC 1220AM CFAJ RADIO

There’s lots of hockey on tap for fans in St. Catharines and Niagara this weekend.

The GOJHL weekend begins Friday night with the St. Catharines Falcons hosting Welland with a 7 o’clock puck drop at the Seymour Hannah Centre. Also Friday, Pelham visits Port Colborne for a 7 o’clock faceoff at the Vale Centre.

Saturday night’s slate has Caledonia at Fort Erie to take on the Meteors with a 7 o’clock puck drop at the Leisureplex, while the St. Catharines Falcons travel to Port Colborne to face the Sailors. That’s a 7:30 start at the Vale Centre

Sunday afternoon, it’s Port Colborne at Pelham (2:45pm), while Sunday night, the Welland Jr. Canadiens are home to Fort Erie

The Niagara Icedogs begin a new Ontario Hockey League season on Friday night as they visit the London Knights. The Icedogs play their home opener on Saturday night with a 7 o’clock tilt against the same, arch-rival Knights. In an OHL scheduling quirk, the Icedogs and Knights do not meet again this season, barring both clubs making it to the OHL final.

The Buffalo Bills will take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, in what is quite likely, no, definitely, the best matchup of the Week 4 NFL schedule. Go Bills!!!!!! (Do people still say “Squish the Fish”? I know I do……

If you or your team have a sporting event you’d like to have mentioned on the air on Classic 1220 and posted on our website, send me the information or schedule to chuck@classic1220.ca
