Niagara Regional Police responded just before 9:50a.m. Monday to a stabbing that just occurred in the area of Victoria Avenue and Buttrey Street in Niagara Falls. Officers learned a 37 year old Niagara Falls man had been assaulted with a weapon. Niagara EMS paramedics transported the victim to an out-of-town trauma centre with what was believed to be life-threatening injuries. The victim’s injuries have since been downgraded to non-life threatening. He remains in hospital at this time. Investigation thus far has led detectives to believe this to be a targeted incident that occurred in an encampment located to the south of Buttrey Street.
