Detectives Seek Witnesses After Stabbing in Niagara Falls

Niagara Regional Police responded just before 9:50a.m. Monday to a stabbing that just occurred in the area of Victoria Avenue and Buttrey Street in Niagara Falls. Officers learned a 37 year old Niagara Falls man had been assaulted with a weapon.  Niagara EMS paramedics transported the victim to an out-of-town trauma centre with what was believed to be life-threatening injuries.  The victim’s injuries have since been downgraded to non-life threatening.  He remains in hospital at this time. Investigation thus far has led detectives to believe this to be a targeted incident that occurred in an encampment located to the south of Buttrey Street. Area residents are being asked to review their surveillance footage and contact the lead detective by dialing 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009994 with any relevant information.
