Arrest made in fatal fail to remain collision in NOTL

Niagara Regional Police have been investigating a fatal July 13 fail to remain collision that occurred in Niagara on the Lake.  84 year-old Nestor Chemerika was cycling on East West Line near Concession 2 Road when a pick up truck struck him and left the scene. Chemerika died in hospital due to the injuries sustained when he was struck. On Tuesday, October 3 37 year old Richard Alan Moore of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged by detectives with Fail to Stop After Accident-Causing Death and Careless Driving Cause Death. Moore was held in custody for a video bail hearing in St. Catharines on October 4.
