With just 9 games left on the schedule, the Niagara Ice Dogs look poised for another shortened season.
Sitting with a 16-36-6-1 record, the Ice Dogs sit with 39 points in 59 games,15 points outside of a playoff spot. It’s virtually impossible to make it.
It’s not all doom and gloom though, with the bright light shining on the starts of the team like Kevin He who is a projected second rounder for this upcoming draft, had high praise from Sportsnet analyst Anthony Stewart saying “on his worst day he is a late 2nd round pick. He shoots the puck like an NHL hockey player. He’s going to score 20 goals in the NHL”.
He currently has 29 goals and 21 assists for 50 points in 59 games.
Another player having a great season is 16 year old Ryan Roobroeck. Roobroeck who is one of the top prospects for the 2026 NHL draft has 24 goals 17 assists for 41 points in 54 games, now holding the Niagara Ice Dogs franchise record for most goals in a rookie campaign for the team beating teammate Kevin He and Akil Thomas who both had 21.
