Around 8:45 Monday night, a Niagara Regional Police detective observed a vehicle being operated by a suspended driver in the area of Duncan Street and Lasalle Street in Welland. With the assistance of uniform patrol, a traffic stop was conducted. As a result, officers confirmed the driver was driving while under suspension, with two male passengers in the vehicle. Continued investigation revealed the suspect was found to be in possession of 44.7g of suspected fentanyl. A further search of the vehicle led to the discovery of an additional 141.2g of suspected fentanyl, 0.6g of cocaine, 8.1g of Crystal Meth and 76 acetaminophen pills. The total has an approximate street value of $30,630.
39 year-old Adam Fougere of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
- Possession of schedule III substance for trafficking
- Fail to comply with release order
- Driving while under suspension
37 year-old Jeremy McGilvery of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
- Possession of schedule III substance for trafficking
And 31 year old Kyle Belzner of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
- Possession of schedule III substance for trafficking
