On December 13, Niagara Regional Police Service were conducting proactive patrol in the area of Court Street and Church Street in St. Catharines. Detectives observed a male and female suspect exhibiting behavior indicative of trafficking illegal drugs. The male suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of 0.1 grams fentanyl, 1.7 grams cocaine, 18 hydromorphone pills and $590 Canadian Currency,
The female suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of crack cocaine weighing a total of 2.2 grams and fentanyl weighing a total of 1.9 grams.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant at a location in the area of Church Street and Court Street, and seized the following:
- $1980 Canadian Currency
- 8 grams of suspected fentanyl (street value $21,160)
- 5 grams suspected cocaine (street value $5,950)
- 6 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine (street value $720)
- 1079 Hydromorphone 8mg pills ($21,580)
- Total estimated street value of the seized drugs: $49,410.00
24 year-old Shaun S. Fairfax of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possess prohibited/restricted weapon or prohibited device
- Possession of proceeds or property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (opioid hydromorphone)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
- Trafficking schedule I substance (opioid fentanyl)
- Fail to comply with release order
28 year-old Kaneedra Hopley-Michael of St. Catharines, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds or property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (opioid fentanyl)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (opioid hydromorphone)
- Possession of schedule I substance for trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
