13 Year Old Fort Erie Male Facing Charges

Just after 2:30pm last Friday, emergency services personnel responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision in Fort Erie.  While enroute to the scene, NRP officers learned that one of the vehicles had left the collision site at the intersection of Elm Street and Ridge Road North. The female driver of a Jeep, who is in her 20’s, was being treated by Niagara EMS paramedics and personnel from the Fort Erie Fire Service.  She had serious injuries from the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. During the investigation, officers located a damaged vehicle parked nearby.  The driver had run from the car.  Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect. The investigation determined the identity of the driver and that the car had been stolen from a family member at a Fort Erie home earlier in the day. On Monday, the suspect returned to his families’ Fort Erie home and stole a motorcycle, which was found abandoned the next day in the middle of the street near Burbank Trail and Lindberg Drive. The suspect was located on Tuesday by NRPS officers in Fort Erie and arrested.  A 13-year-old Fort Erie male faces charges. The teen cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada.
