Solar Eclipse in Niagara

We are just 3 days away from the once in a lifetime experience, a solar Eclipse.

The phenomenon will start at 2:04 PM and end at 4:32 PM. At 3:18 PM the moon will cover 100 percent of the sun.

Public health says to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the event.

They recommend glasses made for the event called the ISO-12312-2 certified Eclipse glasses.

Niagara was ranked at number 11 throughout the world for best place to watch the Eclipse take place.

A Solar Eclipse is when the moon completely covers the sun.

Up to one million people are expected to come to Niagara for the event, and with that Regional Chair Jim Bradley has declared a state of emergency for April 8th.

All Schools will be closed on April 8th in the Niagara Region.
