Suspect In Custody After Disturbance on Strohan Street in Niagara Falls

Just after 12:30 Monday afternoon, Niagara Regional Police responded to
a disturbance at a residential address on Strohan Street near Johnson
Drive in Niagara Falls. Information provided to the NRPS was that a male
was seen in the area yelling obscenities while threatening to burn down
a nearby home. Officers were unable to locate the man, but as the search
for him was underway, information was received that he was in possession
of a firearm. The NRPS Emergency Task Unit responded. Victoria Public
School was placed in a hold and secure as officers searched for the man.
Just after 2:30pm, ETU officers located him in a backyard and he was
subsequently arrested. The firearm was determined to have been a pellet
gun. The hold and secure at Victoria Park School was lifted and students
were dismissed as usual. 39 year old Carlos William Lewis of Niagara
Falls faces several charges.
