A crash in Beamsville involving a fuel tanker truck and a car shut down the QEW in both directions this morning. The crash happened on a side road in Beamsville between Ontario Street and Victoria Avenue just before 8AM. OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says the tanker truck was hauling more than 50,000 litres of fuel, and around 30 per cent of it spilled into the ditch. He also says police are investigating reports of a third vehicle driving aggressively that cut off a passenger vehicle sending it into the tractor-trailer, that failed to remain at the scene. OPP say the driver of the tanker truck was taken to hospital with injuries. The driver of the car was not hurt.
