Post-secondary students looking for summer employment opportunities with the City will want to be at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024. The City will be hosting a summer student job fair that day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Lawrence and Irene Locke Room. Recruitment efforts are focused on filling Maintenance Student positions with Municipal Works, which could include maintaining sports fields, assist in maintaining the City’s parks and gardens, or ground maintenance duties at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. The City of St. Catharines is also looking for Lifeguards for the Kiwanis Aquatics Centre, as well as the City’s outdoor pools. Walk-in candidates are encouraged to attend but will need to bring a printed copy of both their resume and references. Other summer positions include Administrative Student, Co-Op Student (Community, Recreation and Cultural Services Department) and Co-Op Student (Engineering, Facilities and Environmental Services).
