Arrest made in stabbing Incident in North End St. Catharines

Niagara Regional Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a multi story residential apartment building on Vine Street north of Carlton Street just before 4pm Wednesday. A male victim in his 20s was found suffering from serious multiple stab injuries from a knife.  The victim was treated by Niagara EMS paramedics and transported to an out of region hospital. The initial investigation determined the victim had been assaulted by a male suspect inside the building. The suspect is also believed to have sprayed the victim with animal repellant. The suspect then ran from the scene. At 4:15pm Emergency Task Unit officers located and arrested the suspect walking in the area. 27 year-old Collin George Lauzon of St. Catharines has been charged with assault with a weapon,aggravated assault and fail to comply with a probation order. Lauzon is being held in custody for a video bail hearing Thursday in St. Catharines.
